AND AFTER ALL THIS TIME, I NEVER THOUGHT WE'D BE HERE, WHEN MY LOVE FOR YOU WAS BLIND. Ino rolled onto her side, comfortably cushioned by the sandy dune below her. She was sleeping like a baby. It'd been so long since she'd gotten such good rest. The past few nights had been spent studying her butt off for the genin exams, but now that she was officially a genin, she could sleep in peace. There were no exams coming up, and if anything would stop her from sleeping, it would be the anticipation of her first real ninja mission. But there was no need for such anxiousness when she could live out her first mission through her dreams.
"Shintenshin no Jutsu... Art of the Valentine," Ino called out wearily, now rolling over onto her stomach. Her face was meshed up against the cold and colorless sand below, and now a string trail of moist saliva united the corner of her mouth to the Earth's cushioned surface.
"Yeah!... I did it Shikamaru! Did you see that food boy?!" Ino asked as her lips curled into a grin. "Now that I'm the best kunoichi... Sasuke-kun has to marry me..."

Lately, Akira had felt like he'd been working himself twice, or thrice as much as he ever had when he was in the academy. Every day, he would do missions and training in the village with his squad, and every night he would go home to his clan to further train and learn the techniques from his clan that he hadn't quite mastered yet. There was so much knowledge for him to take in, so many new techniques for him to discover. It got to be a lot of stress in his life, and he was only twelve years old. Didn't he have his entire adult life to be stressed out?
He wanted, no he needed a break. So when he got a day off from missions with his squad, he decided to take a break. Today, he was going to leave Konohagakure. No, not permanently - he wasn't going rogue, but he wanted to leave their little haven and just do a little bit of traveling outside. He just wanted to see what was out there, and most importantly take a day to clear his head from all the nonsense that occupied it. Heading out that morning, he didn't imagine what he'd stumble upon.
He alternated between walking, and running when he got bored. Jumping through the treetops until there were no trees, and it was just a barren ground. He would have continued on, until he noticed something odd. Something...purple? It was a pretty big contrast to the dirt on the ground so he jumped down, heading closer. The closer he got, the more anxious he felt. It was a person. And it was someone he recognized from the academy, too: Yamanaka Ino. She was a girl who cared a lot about her appearance probably didn't even remember his name... not that he knew anything about her. But that wasn't important right now. She was laying here, in the desert, alone.
What the hell? Was she dead? Getting closer, he heard her mutterings. No, she was not dead. She was sleeping, and there was a nice line of drool forming on her face. He bet that she wasn't going to be pleased when she woke up.
"Ino, get up." He bent down to shake her arm gently.
"Are you okay?"

AND AFTER ALL THIS TIME, I NEVER THOUGHT WE'D BE HERE, WHEN MY LOVE FOR YOU WAS BLIND. Sweet Dreams. Ino had been stuck in dream land for some time, however she would soon be snapped out of it as someone began to shake her arm... Ino felt such an odd tugging, pulling her away from her internal reality within the arms of her Sasuke-kun and back into this other reality of which she had been brought to. Reluctantly, she began to open her eyes. The young blond rolled onto her side and then onto her back before sitting up. She'd look around curiously, and as more time began to pass, she'd grow to be much more frantic.
Everywhere she looked, there was nothing but... sand? What the hell? And none of it had color. What was this place? Even the sky was cray and void of color, and no, not because of clouds. No, it was something different. She'd never seen the Earth look in such a way. She'd turn down, left, and right... Desert in every direction, expanding infinitely so far as she could tell. But then, next to her was someone familiar, Akira, from her recently graduated class. How could she not know him? 4 years in a class of 30. Yeah, she knew him.
"Akira-kuuuuuun! Where the hell are we?! Did you bring me here? I..." Ino pondered momentarily... the last thing she'd done was go to bed at her own home. This obviously wasn't her home. One way or another, she'd gotten far away.
"You brought me here, didn't you?! You're going to do unspeakable things to me! You pervert!"

Akira frowned. He wasn't sure what he had expected her first words to be when she woke up, but he certainly didn't appreciate being accused of being a pervert. "Are you kidding?" He groaned, a bit flustered at her words. Normally encounters with girls just made him freeze up and go quiet, but Ino didn't really let him do that, with her accusations and such. Which was probably good, considering he had no idea where on earth the two of them were, and if he went mute she would only get more mad.
"Yes. Yes, I did. And then decided to wake you up without doing anything at all..." He trailed off a bit, watching her as she gazed around. The land they were at was strange, after all. He had never seen this terrain on any map he'd seen, and the sand... it was strange. Not normal. "No, I didn't. Don't be ridiculous. You know me, and I feel like I'd have gotten a lot of beatings in the academy were I a pervert." That was the truth - between Sakura and Ino, Akira didn't want to say the wrong thing to any girl and run the risk of upsetting her. They had tempers.
"I just ended up here. I don't really know how, or where here is, and I found you asleep in the sand. You talk in your sleep, you know." He glanced over at her, giving her a bit of a look. If he were more mischievous he might tease her about her mutterings, but they were in a real predicament here.

AND AFTER ALL THIS TIME, I NEVER THOUGHT WE'D BE HERE, WHEN MY LOVE FOR YOU WAS BLIND. "Hrmmm..."Ino frowned. While perhaps she should have been happy that he hadn't been planning any lechery, it actually brought her back to ground one. Where were they then? The middle of no where, obviously, but how had they gotten here? There'd been some kind of purpose. The last Ino knew, she'd been at home in her bed... so... the only possibility was that she'd been abducted in some way. Either that or she was in a genjutsu. But genjutsu didn't typically link people together. They couldn't both be in the same genjutsu, could they? Or maybe Akira wasn't real. Ino got onto her feet, slowly but surely until she was standing completely. This area was so gray and lifeless that it hardly made sense. Black and white. No color anywhere in the environment. Even her own clothing appeared much more dull, and this outfit was brand new. It felt like a genjutsu. She turned to Akira. "Stand still," she commanded him. She prepared a hand seal and then brought her middle and index fingers together, creating a window with them. "Art of the Valentine: Shintenshin no Jutsu!"At this close range, and as unsuspecting as he may have been, it'd be hard for Akira to dodger her technique, but plausible nonetheless. If her technique was a success though, the two of them would be switching bodies. Ino would be in his body, and he'd be in hers. Name: Shintenshin no Jutsu - Mind Body Change Technique Type: Ninjutsu, Hijutsu Rank: C Description: The Mind Body Switch Technique is the signature ability of the Yamanaka clan. Originally, this ninjutsu was suited for intelligence-gathering missions rather than battle. With it, a ninja sends his or her mind into a target's body supplanting the target's mind with their own. The user transfers their consciousness to the target, giving them complete control of the body temporarily. While in control of the body, the user is able to communicate with the target should she so choose, or she may render them unconscious. As the user propels all of their mental energy, the shooting range and number of hits are considerably limited. It is also possible for the user to switch bodies with the target.
Normally, their original body is left defenceless while this technique is active, leaving it susceptible to attack until they return. The mind transfer moves in a straight direction and takes some time to return to the user's body if it misses. Because of these reasons, it should only be used on immobilised targets. Similarly, if the opponent's will is stronger than the user's, they can force the user from their body. Lastly, should any physical injury befall the victim's body while the mind-link is active, it would cause the user's body to also receive those same injuries. This can be rectified if user cancels the technique before the victim's body receives the damage. MADE BY KIWII AT BTN & GS | |

As Ino stood, Akira stepped a footstep closer to offer her help, but she seemed fine so he held it back. This was so confusing. Where were they? More importantly... how were they supposed to make their way back to Konoha? Every which way he looked, Akira saw sand, sand, and wait... what was that? Oh. More of the grey, dull, colorless sand.
Seeing her set himself up, Akira frowned. She had spoken to him with a pretty official tone though, so was unsure if he should defy her and move himself. He watched as she created a window with her hands, and racked his brain for the techniques that symbol was associated it. Ino was a Yamanaka, what techniques were theirs again? "Ino-chan..." He began, but it was too late. She used her technique, and in a moment everything changed. Akira staggered back, blinking. Had nothing happened? No, that couldn't have been. He stood facing himself, watching himself... Looking up at himself. What on earth? He looked down, at a body that wasn't his.
"Ino! What the hell was this for!" He shrieked in a voice that wasn't his. They had switched bodies. That was right, the Yamanakas used mind-body switching techniques. He should have remembered, or dodged, but he hadn't thought that she would use her techniques on him. He hadn't done anything to her. "Okay, now you've switched us, what's your bright idea now?" He huffed, unhappy about residing in the body of a girl.

AND AFTER ALL THIS TIME, I NEVER THOUGHT WE'D BE HERE, WHEN MY LOVE FOR YOU WAS BLIND. "Oh, shut up..." Ino commanded. The boy's sudden attitude wasn't flying well with Ino. Given that the two of them were all the way out here, obviously they'd have to work together. If they couldn't do that, finding their way home would be way too difficult. Unless someone was coming here to rescue them, which they couldn't possibly know and could even less assume, then they'd have to figure out how to get away themselves.
"You said you didn't know where we are, and that you didn't bring us here, so obviously I have my suspicions. Switching bodies actually answered a lot of questions for me," Ino confirmed. She wasn't particularly thrilled being in his body either, so he had no reason to think that she'd want to make the switch permanent. After all, how would she ever swoon Sasuke while in Akira's body? Ino merely shook her head.
"Firstly, it helped me to confirm that you are really you. If you were someone else disguising yourself in this form, the technique would have been canceled when i switched into your body. Likewise, if we were in a genjutsu, or you had cast a genjutsu on me, it likely would have been canceled. So I highly doubt our peculiar surroundings are an illusion..."
Ino took another moment to look around herself for clues. But unfortunately, sand expanding infinitely yielded very little hints for her. She'd turn to face Akira, or rather, Akira in her own body.
"But unfortunately, I have been able to confirm.... absolutely nothing," Ino said disdainfully. She'd bring the fingers of her hands together and intertwine them, thus canceling her Mind Transfer Jutsu and bringing herself back to her own body and returning Akira to his.
"So... What to do now?" She'd ask herself. She knew that Akira was trustworthy now, but that was really the only thing she knew. She placed her hands on her hips in thought.

If Akira had more sass, he would have rolled his eyes at her, but honestly he couldn't be bothered. She had switched bodies, it was done, and at least now she would stop accusing him of treachery. He said nothing, waiting until she switched their bodies back. It was a weird feeling, to be out-of-body, and to be looking at his own body... very weird. Once returned to his own body, he felt normal again. Or at least as normal as he could feel while they were stranded out here in the middle of nowhere with no idea where they were. At least they weren't in a genjutsu... but at the same time, a genjutsu would probably have been easier to escape.
"Well, standing around isn't going to get us anywhere... But walking doesn't seem to ever have an end and would just tire us out..." Akira mumbled to himself, thinking. This was strange. If they were abducted, where were their captors? What was the plan here? To be able to sneak in the village and take Ino in her sleep, that proved that they were pretty powerful and were able to act easily without getting caught. They could easily overpower two new genin and kill them if they wanted. What was the bigger plan here? "Well, I guess that we need to do something... should we try walking? Maybe we'll find someone else, or just...something. Anything." He offered.

AND AFTER ALL THIS TIME, I NEVER THOUGHT WE'D BE HERE, WHEN MY LOVE FOR YOU WAS BLIND. "Oh, what a genius!" Ino sarcastically imitated a momentary swoon. No, she wasn't very impressed. Not in the least. But what he had said had been along the lines of what she'd been thinking. Obviously there was no reason to just sit around here doing nothing. Where would that get them? No where at all, of course. And they were no where to begin with. They could easily find that things were more dangerous as they moved on, but they could also possibly find their way home.
She shrugged her shoulders as she continued to think of options. However, a brief few seconds later she'd have to admit that there were no more, despite her intellectual genius. She took another moment to look around herself and see if there were any clues as for which direction they should move in... nothing.
"It's a desert," she finally said. "Everywhere we can see. So it's most important that we first locate a water source. We're going to get thirsty, and if we don't have water when that happens, we're not going to last very long."
Ino already noticed that there didn't appear to be any native wild life nearby. That wasn't a good sign. For if there were, it would confirmed there was at least some water. And there was no vegetation either. That wasn't good. Ino shook her head and pointed in an arbitrary location.
"We're going this way," she commanded. And with that, she'd begin to lead.

Ino was not a very easy person to cooperate with. She was being bossy, commanding and generally just taking out her frustrastion on Akira. She wasn't making this any easier - if she had any bright ideas, she was welcome to share them. Akira knew that they had to get along to make this work though, and fighting her wasn't going to get them anywhere. He luckily had the self control to shrug off her comments and keep his mouth shut. She brought up a good point: water. It didn't look like there was any around here. The air felt so dry, when he breathed it in Akira felt like choking on it.
"Okay," he agreed, when she picked a direction. He was going to do what he could to keep them from fighting. That would just take away all of their energy. He followed her, staying in pace as they walked. It didn't look like anything was changing; there was still nothing on the horizon.
Not good...

AND AFTER ALL THIS TIME, I NEVER THOUGHT WE'D BE HERE, WHEN MY LOVE FOR YOU WAS BLIND. Silence would ensue... the two of them had little to discuss at this point in time. All they had was to pray that there was a way to escape this godforsaken place, yet as they traveled, there seemed to be very little clues. Nothing. Not a plant, animal, or insect... It was a surprise to say the very least, but it was their current reality. They couldn't easily get their hopes up...
The two would walk for some hours... silence between them. Ino had nothing to say to him, and it didn't ;seem that he had much to say to her either. They merely continued to walk.
"You know... it's a bit odd," Ino finally broke the silence. She'd bring her hand to her forehead, wiping it... however, her forehead was dry. There was no sweat.
"We've been walking for quite a while... and I still don't feel thirsty. I'm not even slightly tired. By now we should feel some kind of physical exhaustion, shouldn't we?" The question was entirely rhetorical. She was merely stating facts. She bean to think on the situation a bit more as well. It had been a while since she'd last eaten, thanks to her died: one meal a day...
"And... I'm not even hungry," Ino came to a halt, placing her right hand onto her stomach.

| TAGS Everyone;; WORDS Too Lazy;; NOTES Gaaaggg;; | A soft yawn escaped her lips as she leaned up. Rubbing the back of her neck, she looked around her. Just moments ago she had been preparing a snack for her elder sister... Nodding softly, she mumbled. "I must have fallen asleep... I better get back to work or else sister wont have anything to eat when she gets back.." she muttered softly. As the girl reached out to pick up the knife that had been there what seemed moments before, her eyes snapped wide open. This wasn't the kitchen. Instead of the usual flickering light of her kitchen, all that surrounded her was sand. Why was there so much sand!? Where was she?!
Standing, Katsu gasped at the scenery around her. She most definitely wasn't in the laboratory that she had been assigned to that month. Gulping, the girl stood, wiping sand from her dress. That's when she noticed the next odd thing. She had been wearing a kimono while preparing her sister's snack. When she wore her kimono, the rules were not to wear any weapons as well. However, now, not only was she not wearing her kimono, but she was also wearing all her weapons. On her left hip was her katana. Secured tightly above that was her smaller tanto, and then, on her right hip, hung the small scroll containing her naginata. How had this happened?! No one could have possibly sneaked into the base they were currently using without setting off several alarms!
Giving a soft huff, she turned to try and find a vantage point. If Katsu didn't get home quickly, her sister might begin to worry. Covering her eyes, she shivered at the thought of her sister being worried. It was horrible! She didn't want to put her sister through that. When she uncovered her eyes, something suddenly came into view. It was a black dot a few hundred yards out. Gulping, she gripped her katana, leaving it in the hilt, and began to run toward their direction. The closer she got, the more she could make out. The dot was made up of two... boys..? No! One was a girl! Approaching silently, she kept her hand on her blade's handle.

Hours passed, with nothing but silence... which meant that Akira's imagination had the chance to run rampant. He wondered where on earth they were, and what would someone want with two genins? Not any offense to Ino, but the two of them weren't exactly the most amazing ninjas. She had some interesting techniques, thanks to her family, and he had some decent genjutsu, but nothing worth abducting them over. This whole situation just confused him.
Hearing Ino speak, Akira focused his attention back on her. Now that he thought about it, he wasn't tired, thirsty or hungry... Allt things that should have happened by now. "Well, we're definitely not in a genjutsu, right? Your technique would have cancelled it." It was almost like they were in some sort of created world. Maybe they were in some kind of sleeping state somewhere... Those were the directions were where Akira's mind went.
In the distance, he could see some sort of black dot. He pointed it out to Ino silently, feeling slightly nervous and glad that he had his bag strapped to his leg, filled with feathers in case he needed to fight. As they got closer though, he could tell it was just a young girl, looking about as old as they were. He felt apprehensive, as he noticed she was, not wanting any harm to come to himself or to Ino. They weren't friends but he was still in her village, he wanted to protect her. Akira frowned, noticing her headband. So there were genins missing from every village...
"No, we don't. Did you just wake up here...?"

AND AFTER ALL THIS TIME, I NEVER THOUGHT WE'D BE HERE, WHEN MY LOVE FOR YOU WAS BLIND. The two Konoha genin were soon approached by yet another (what Ino presumed to be) genin. This girl was around their age. She had black hair, and a noticeable katana. This meant that she wasn't playing in the least bit. Ino's suspicions immediately fell upon this girl. Perhaps she knew something about this desert that they were now in... however the girl would soon ask Ino and her comrade if they knew anything... which told Ino that the girl was either playing innocent, or she really didn't know anything about this desert. Either way, they wouldn't be able to easily extract information from her.
Being that her comrade had already answered the question the girl had asked, Ino crossed her arms and would simply observe. Her eyes would wander to the girl's forehead protector, upon which she saw a musical note. It wasn't from a village that she recognized, so Ino couldn't be quick to assume any relationship between their villages.
"Who are you?" Ino asked bluntly. She knew that it was rude to ask someone else's identity before introducing one's self, but at this point she didn't care.

| TAGS Everyone;; WORDS Too Lazy;; NOTES Gaaaggg;; | The boy and girl both seemed to be really smart. Katsu looked them over before releasing her katana. It wasn't like she would need her hand on her sword to draw the blade quickly if needed. As she released her blade, her posture too a dramatic change. Her hands were folded neatly over each other, and her back as straight as an arrow. She almost looked like a hostess at an inn. As she looked over the two young shinobi, Katsu realized how different she was dressed from them. She was wearing a rather long white plaid skirt along with a blue coat. They were also wearing some form of sandels in place of boots like she was wearing. The weirdest thing was that they didn't have any swords like she did! Were all shinobi this weird? She had assumed people back at the laboratory were just a bit odd, but maybe it was a global thing? When the boy spoke to her, she sighed and nodded. "Yeah... I was preparing my sister a snack for when she left the research laboratory.. I... Erm I guess I fell asleep," she explained, scratching the back of her head nervously. "When I woke up I was here... and in my training gear too.... Did that happen to you two as well?" she asked. If these two had been taken the same way she had, then that meant maybe the other labs had people taken from them too. Clapping her hands together, her eyes widened in worry. Turning, she began to pace back and forth, "Oh no... oh no... oh no... oh no..." she muttered softly. If they were taking people around her age, that meant that other kids from the labs were taken! It just had to! Some of those kids were dangerous! So dangerous! Her pacing stopped when the blonde asked for her name. Turning, she bowed deeply. "My name is Katsu! I'm from Otogakure no Sato!" she said, almost as if answering a command. It was as if she was use to being commanded about, and this was simply her natural response to questions. | Coded by Soronus of CT & BTN |
