APPEARANCE | Akira has come to don a simple and practical outfit, consisting of a pair of black pants, a white t-shirt and a black vest. His generic outfit is still in pretty good condition, considering the wear that it has gone through. He keeps a navy blue pouch strapped to his right leg which houses most of his weapons, as well as a tan pouch strapped to his waist which holds the rest of the items he carries. For his age he is rather tall, and unlike many tall people he doesn't slouch; it doesn't really occur to him. He appears to be well-groomed and clean, not that he takes great measured to take care of his appearance. His black hair is choppily cut and gets trimmed every time in gets in his eyes.

PERSONALITY | Generally, Akira is a pretty laid-back person. He doesn't get too worked up about what people say, or do. He focuses mostly on himself and the few people that he keeps close to him, so he can seem a bit cold or distance to most people, simply because in his spare time he trains, sleeps, or spends time with his family and few friends. As an older brother he is very protective and worries often about the well-being and safety of his flighty younger sisters, which translates onto his friends. When his friends and family are in danger he will go to no ends to save them, even delving into situations that he knows he's not going to come out of, despite his clans teachings. Being the only son his father ever got, the man focused all of his wants and beliefs onto the boy, which increased his devotion to being a shinobi. As such Akira trains very hard to work himself to his limits, wanting to be able to do everything that his father was unable to achieve in his own shinobi days. He isn't the best at knowing when to stop, though; he easily gets too caught up in his goals and works himself too hard, pushing people away in the process. He easily gets tunnel vision and forgets about the things that he deems "less important", usually letting relationships and social interactions fall short. As such he doesn't have many friends and is talked about as somewhat of a jerk by the people who don't know him, because he ignores them unintentionally. When forced into social situations (especially with girls, which makes him doubly nervous) he tends to get nervous and as a result doesn't say much - he only speaks when spoken to, and even then only when it requires a response.

Born to two shinobis, Aoi and Joren Karasu, Akira was the couples first child of three. For the first 5 years of his life he was their sole child. He grew up usually only having one parent around - either his mother or his father would be away on a mission, leaving the other to take care of their child. As a young boy Akira was curious, interested and willing to learn. He was a sponge, and absorbed everything around him; his father passed on all of his ideals to him during this time. When Akira was 5 his mother gave birth to his younger sister, Ai, and one year later to his youngest sister Akori. His sisters had the same personality as his mother - full of life, energy and curiosity. From a young age it was instilled into Akira that it was his job to protect his little sisters. It was that which gave birth to his natural protectiveness over women.

His mother, however, was unable to keep her status as a shinobi. When she was out on a mission she was gravely injured, and was lucky to walk away with her life - however, she was bound to a wheelchair and was forbidden to become a ninja. After that, she entered into a period of depression, leaving Akira and his sisters to fend for themselves. Akira tried to help but he really had no idea what he was supposed to do. So, he took care of his sisters during this time - ensured that they went to school, and had proper dinners when his father was away on missions. Akira's mother managed to pull herself out of her funk though when she finally was able to see just how much she was hurting her children.

Learning the techniques of his clan was no simple feat for Akira. While the flexibility and agility that were the base of the clans techniques came easy to the boy, the necessary chakra control for the sound attacks did not. He had to endure, spending many hours practicing time and time again in order to work on his chakra control. He began the study of Feza-Engi, featherplay, the Hiden of his clan shortly after he joined the Academy. It was his father who taught him these techniques, and he spared nothing on the boy. His teaching style was harsh, and involved continuous practice until he saw results. Akira often came home with cuts, scrapes and bruises but a smile on his face as he came home with some sort of result.

In the academy, Akira was a good student but his grades weren't at the top of the class. He got bored with tests and didn't like reading books he was assigned, so his grades suffered on that aspect. He would skip on occasion due to this, and would usually do it to go train or spend time in the woods, high up in the trees, which was one of his favourite pastimes. His grades for his techniques though were good, and he managed to graduate the academy on his first try and with fairly good grades, which made his father proud.

He is now a member of team nine under Yamato.
