DESCRIPTION |
HEIGHT & BUILD | Kisho's a rather tall boy for his age, standing at five feet and seven inches tall, weighing in about 135 lbs. He has an athletic build even though with his training but looks can be deceiving, his arms are quite slender but with a muscular build. His legs are the same as his arms with is good for running or kicking someone in the neck. APPEARANCE | Like many others in his family, his skin tone is a pale white, though he personally wishes he had a little more color. As for his hair, its color is simply black, and like many other men in his family, it once reached to his waist. However, he shortened the length to reach only to the back of his neck and has three long dreadlocks hanging on the right side of his face. More importantly, his eyes are a pale, milky white as they come from his family’s most powerful and highly guarded tool, the Byakugan. In terms of clothing, Kisho favors a gray changshan with a single sleeve removed, (Chinese longcoat) and modified to include a hood, so that he can protect his head from the elements. Underneath the upper half of his changshan, Kisho wears a simple long sleeve fishnet undershirt. As for his headband, he prefers to wear it around his neck, as he has no shame showing off the curse seal that rests on his forehead. Lower on his body, he prefers loose fitting judo pants of the same material and color of his changshan, and a simple pair of blue shinobi sandals. Kisho also carries a small three pouches belt containing several essential tools on the left side of his hip. PERSONALITY | Kisho is extremely loyal to the main branch of the Hyûga, he would die to keep them safe; only because he was taught to be loyal to them. Ever since birth, he was groomed and told to never go against the main branch; to the point where it was practically branded into his mind, that it’s their duty to protect, and if needed, die for them, as what other alternative is there? As such, he has a rather high opinion of his clan, considering them to the superior class of shinobi just under the Hokage themselves, that for other people other than the main branch or anyone a Hyûga, he is rather distance, closed off, and tends to just ignore them if they are, what he considers, a particular brand of stupid. Nevertheless, if he has to talk to said people, he won’t hesitate to talk down to them with a hint of smugness in his voice. Opposite to how he acts among outsiders of the clan, he is like a different person when interacting with a fellow Hyûga, as he is quite friendly, warm and tends to share a lot more than he would with a non-Hyûga. Yet, he is quite aware that quite a few, if not many, members of the side branch dislike him and his parents for, what they consider to be somewhat of a betrayal for their actions. Kisho however tries to take this in stride, but cannot understand why he and his parents gain this kind of ire, when there isn’t any other option. Along the line he developed of a rather negative worldview concerning self-worth. He sees two groups of people in life, those who prove themselves in life and insects who don’t even deserve to be protected, for example, if he were to see a farmer and a bum…He’d consider the farmer as a person who proved their worth in life, from their hard work to feed their families, while he’d look at the bum with disdain and disgust. He would even give dehumanizing names to those he feels are worthless to him and the very world. Though he quickly warms up to people if he feels that they prove their worth in life, far enough to respect them as equals and actually call them by their names. He becomes somewhat more open and much more talkative to those he believes are worthy in life, though he still has a hard time getting use to people outside the family. Oddly enough, even though he has a rather cold-hearted view towards life, he becomes somewhat shy towards women, he considers “Attractive,” though he tries to hide this fact as best as he can. Kisho is also somewhat analytical mind and has a tendency to try and rationalize things that make no sense to him, feeling that everything can be rationalized and explained with a little logic and calm thinking. However, despite his loyalty, extremely high opinion of his clan, and his parents’ teachings; he has a rather large number of issues with his lot in life as he grew. The most concerning of his issues is why must he be a servant to the main family? Of course he would never question the wisdom of the Main family and his parents, he just wonders why, in his mind, he has to be some sort of stunted bodyguard/servant. There are plenty of other concerns and problems he has, but with all his parents’ teaching that he should just accept his honored task, he doesn’t dare voice his growing concerns… So instead, he just bottles those thoughts up inside. Instead he just tries to rationalize his situation with the idea that, in his view of the world, he hasn’t done nearly enough to be worthy to the Main family. So, in order to prove his worth to the main family, he refuses to accept failure on his part and constantly pushes himself to show he isn’t worthless. Of course this had some rather psychological consequences in the form of a great deal of stress for Kisho, which in turn transforms into anger at himself or anything that insults his pride or causes him to fail at what he believes he shouldn't have in the first place. He is quite aware of this, and has been practicing meditation and other forms of activities that relieve stress, including carrying around a stress ball, and growing various peppers in his garden. HISTORY |
Kisho was born into the branching family of the Hyûga and already at birth he would become a guardian to the main family, as his early years were spent being taught that his future role in the Hyûga family was simple: Serve and protect the main branch. While his young life was relatively normal for a child of his age, but there was the constant training, though some would call it conditioning from his parents, two extremely loyal members of the Hyûga side branch. Two skilled jounins, Kisho's mother and father were no different from the other members of the branch family, except they weren’t as bitter as the others. They merely saw no other option for themselves and decided to just serve the main family as faithfully and with skill and unquestioning loyalty, traits they passed down to their son. They instilled Kisho with the philosophy that to be worthy of the main family, he had to be loyal, steadfast and unquestioning because that was their lot in life, they just had to accept it and Kisho with no other influence to show otherwise, accepted this logic as undeniable fact. With his parents’ teachings, it didn’t come as a shock to Kisho when he received his curse mark at the age of three during his cousin Hinata’s third birthday. By this point, Kisho was already fully enveloped in his mother and father’s viewpoint, that he saw his curse mark as a great honor, rather than a mark of shame as some of his other family members viewed it. Kisho’s apparent joy wasn’t long, as his real training began in earnest. For the next six years, he was taught the ways of the branch family and the secrets of the Byakugan. During his training, however, he began to notice a few things, things that raised many questions. One question-raising event in particular was his first-hand witnessing of a fellow member of the side branch, being punished via their curse seal. It was an older Hyûga man whose name Kisho had long since forgotten, but that incident was the catalyst to Kisho’s growing concerns. He began to wonder why would family do such things to another member of the family, and in thinking this, he also began to wonder why he had to be a bodyguard in the first place. This and many other questions he wanted to ask his parents, but he knew he couldn’t… As a worthy member of the side branch had to be unquestioning in the Main branch’s wisdom, so he kept these questions inside, never once letting them see the light of day. By the age of ten, Kisho was ready to enroll in the academy to become a genin. It was safe to say, after years of his parents teaching and natural Hyûga pride, Kisho didn’t make many friends… In fact, he made more childhood enemies if anything else. With his constant name-calling and his talks of the other children being unworthy and inferior to the Hyûga, it was only a matter of time before a group of classmates and a slightly older boy had enough. Naturally, they were no match for a Hyûga, even when he wasn’t using jûken but they had tenacity, and just kept getting up. With each boy’s defeat, Kisho grew more and more arrogant until he was blinded by his pride, that he failed to pay attention one of the boy’s had hurled a rock at his head. It struck, and it hurt greatly. He could feel the thin trail of blood slide down his head, and after that all he could remember was hearing one of the boy’s insulting his clan quite harshly, after that it went black. It was only for a short few minutes later when he awoken to find that the boy who had mocked him and his clan; was on his back, out cold, a bloody nose, and a face full of deep scratches. Kisho had no recollection of what had happened, but whatever it was, his fist and nails were coated in the other boy’s blood, and the other kids had long since fled. Looking at the scene before him, Kisho simply figured that during their fight, he blacked out after being hit with a rock, a wild cat of some sort jumped in and scratched up the other boy’s face. It didn’t really explain how his hand got so bloody but he didn’t really dwell on it. After this skirmish, the boys that were involved in that little revenge plot against Kisho, including the boy who wound up with scratches all over his face, avoided the Hyûga like the plague… And that was fine with Kisho. That was two years ago, and since then Kisho grew stronger and brighter. Still didn’t make many friends as he didn’t find a single person who he considered to have any sort of self-worth, but he didn’t care… He achieved what he had hoped for; he graduated from the academy and began a full-fledge genin. Now he had the ability to use his parents teaching to their fullest, and prove to the world that he is worthy of it. |
