Knowledge was the basis of all life. It was something that Sakura knew for a fact, ever since she stated coming to this very place. There were two kinds of ninjas. Those that were reckless, stupid and lucky, like Naruto, and the ones that were strong and intelligent, like Sasuke. If there was a real reason why she study other than to become a better kunochi, it was to impress him. Surely by now he had to have noticed.
He just too shy to admit it. All I have to do is keep working at it and he'll really take notice. Especially if I keep being cool and confident...
Sighing as she looked over the pages of one of her old books, the girl realized that she had written the boys name over and over on each page. It was enough to cause her to blush as she quickly closed the book's binds and then looked around. The room was empty, aside from a few other students looking through different documents and texts in the area filled with books. That alone was enough to calm her down and prevent herself from freaking out.
She loved the library. It was where she spent much of her free time when not hanging out with friends. Sakura enjoyed the quiet and the peace that came from it. She also loved the chance to read some of the newest texts and theories that came from all over. To her, it was a treasure trove of knowledge, all for her. Though today, she wasn't there really to study or even look at what had come in. Sakura was basically attempting to avoid going home.
After passing her exam, her parents had done nothing but celebrate and parade around her like she was a child. The whole point of becoming a Genin was to be above such childish things. But they didn't understand that. How was she supposed to be cool with parents like that? It was almost suffocating.
"At least they won't find me in here....Maybe if Im lucky...they'll have gone out or something by the time I go home....."
Sighing, the pink haired girl returned to her book, tracing Sasuke's name and drawing hearts around the S's.

If Kiba had known that becoming a Genin was going to involve such boring missions, then he would have done something else. Well, it was too late for him to change his mind now, but that didn't mean Akamaru and him couldn't take a quick break every once in a while. Of course, their break was going to have to be done in a place where their Sensei wouldn't think to look for them, which is why Kiba had thought of the library where he never ended up. Honestly, who would rather spend their time reading than being outside in the warm sun where you could mix it up?
Then he saw Sakura and knew exactly what type of person would be in such a dusty building, and Kiba knew then that he was glad that she wasn't on his team as she would probably try to drag him into this place to renew his knowledge of all things that a shinobi should know. "And we don't need a refresher course of what Iruka sensei taught us, now do we boy?" A muffled bark was his response from the dog that was hidden in his coat, which sounded like a 'yes' to him.
It was at this point that a stray thought popped into his head. Why wasn't Sakura hanging around Sasuke like a love-sick puppy? Maybe the Uchiha had ditched her because of how clinging she was. With this thought in mind, the young Inuzuka decided that maybe he should ask Sakura about this in a 'polite' way, so with a devilish grin on his face he walked over to where the pink haired girl was sitting and made a coughing noise to get her attention so she wouldn't hit him out of shock. It wasn't that he was afraid that she would hurt him, but he was cautious as Akamaru would probably draw blood.
"Hey Sakura. Why aren't you with Sasuke? Did he get scared by all those 'hidden feelings'he has for you," Kiba said in a joking manner. It was nice to poke fun at someone about their feelings for someone other than Hinata. It just didn't feel as gratifying when you did it to your teammate.

Part of her was already scheming. There had to be some kind of event coming up, something that he could get to invite him to. It wouldn't be the same to do so with Naruto around. As long as the orange idiot was within range, she couldn't get his attention. She didn't even understand why he was even on their team? Naruto was a class A screw up, a loud mouth, and so stupid that he made fleas seem intelligent in comparison. Yet, for some reason, they were all paired together. If she could get Sasuke alone, he would be all hers and she could get him to open up.
Of course, just as her ideas were starting to really flow, a cough from behind her caused her to look up,quickly shut her book and spin around to see Kiba standing there. Looking up at the small dog resting on his head, her gaze then moved down to the boy's face as he made his comment on why she wasn't with Sasuke? As his remark came off in such a joking manner, Sakura frowned slightly as inside, her inner thoughts spoke exactly what she wanted to say to him.
Smart ass!! LIKE AN ANIMAL LIKE HIM WOULD UNDERSTAND SOMEONE LIKE SASUKE! HE DOESN'T WANT A GIRL THAT IS CONSTANTLY FOLLOWING HIM! AS LONG AS HE KNOWS THAT THEIR LOYAL, HE DOESN'T NEED THEM AROUND. HES JUST JEALOUS BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS TO FOLLOW A MUTT!!CHA!!!
" If you must know, I'm actually trying to study! Just because we passed the exams doesn't mean we know everything Kiba. Besides, Sasuke isn't afraid of anything...he'll tell me how he feels in time..."
It was a lie of course, seeing as she was hiding from her parents and not here to study. But there was no way she was going to tell him that. Kiba was the kind of person to hold stuff over you and the last thing she wanted to do was give him any more ammo. She almost felt bad for Shino and Hinata for having to deal with him.
Closing her eyes with a serious expression on her face, she then quickly made sure that her book cover had been closed and that none of her mad scribbles could be seen before turning her gaze back to Kiba.
"Besides....Why are you even here? Isn't there a mud pit for you to roll in?"

It took a minute for her to realize that he was there, so Kiba expected a delay in the reaction to his joke. Unfortunately, the girl was hard to read, so the young Inuzuka would have to find another way to get a rise out of her. So she is here to study? How typical of a braniac like her. If she keeps reading, then all she'll be known for is being a shinobi that is all bark and no bite,
[/color] he thought as he popped his knuckles. It was at this point that Akamaru let out a loud yawn. "If you must know, I am also here to read up on a few things that might prove useful on future missions. You're not the only one who knows how useful knowledge can be," he said in response. Of course, Kiba was actually here to put a large book in front of him and then fall asleep, but he didn't think that Sakura needed to know all of that. It wasn't like she would understand how rigorous his family's type of training could be, and he wasn't willing to explain that to her. Akamaru's ears perked up at the words 'mud pit', and then the little dog began looking around. "She's only kidding boy. There aren't any mud puddles for you to go jump in," Kiba said to ease his partner's mind. Obviously, it was an appealing idea to him that reminded him of his youth, but the time for playing around was over. "So what exactly are you studying this week, Sakura? More random bits of information that may or may not be useful to you in the future," he asked as he tried to keep the focus on her. While waiting for an answer, Kiba began to look around to see if anyone else was in the library that he knew, but so far there were just a bunch of random students who were still studying to become Genin someday. Man, he sort of envied them as they didn't know what awaited them once they actually graduated, and then he remembered how boring the classes had been and lost the envious feeling.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/justify]
