sarutobi konohamaru, ACADEMY STUDENT

Konohamaru, being a small child at the mere age of eight, has a sort of roundish, childlike, face. He is of average build, maybe a little on the slim side, though he is gaining some muscle as he trains to become a shinobi. The boy is also relatively average in height, standing at pretty much the same height as Udon and just a little bit taller than Moegi. Konohamaru has slightly angry looking black eyes and his chocolate brown hair sticks up as if he has never once tried to brush it.

The center of the child’s baggy yellow t-shirt is adorned with a red leaf symbol, since it is the symbol of his village. Konohamaru wears three-quarter length gray pants that have a dark gray patch on each knee that have been sewn on there as a result of him constantly scraping his knees and ripping his pants.

He wears the same open-toed ninja shoes that just about everybody seems to wear, his being blue in color. Around his neck, the boy wears a blue scarf which is so long that it is always being dragged along the ground. Atop his head Konohamaru wears a green pair of goggles that bear a striking resemblance to the ones that Naruto used to wear before he replaced them with his leaf headband.

Konohamaru may be an annoying, energetic little brat, but he is also a shinobi-in-training, and a pretty nice kid. He jokes around often and will sometimes throw in a few harmless sarcastic remarks, though there are times when he will act more serious and mature than anyone would expect from someone of his age. Friends are very important to him, as well as his goals. This shinobi, despite how young he is, is the type who tends to be firmly loyal to whatever he believes in. Konohamaru is also liable to become distracted by other things, even when he is trying hard to concentrate on his training.

He is quite capable of acting as a leader when it is needed of him, as he does when he is around his two best friends. Konohamaru has been known to be impulsive, hyperactive, protective of his friends, and determined in his belief that he will someday become Hokage. He also loves to adventure and is a very sociable person. He likes to volunteer to do things that are either dangerous or challenging, or both, in order to test his abilities. However, because of this he has also been known to get himself into trouble fairly often.

Being slightly clumsy is also a trait that Konohamaru carries, and is generally noticed when he trips over his own scarf. Also, his determination and stubborness shines through when his heart becomes set on something. When this happens he absolutely refuses to give up and won't stop until he is able to achieve his goal.

Konohamaru is the grandson of the Third Hokage, and as a result has always seemed to be something of a spoiled brat. The title “Honorable Grandson” might encourage him a little bit to act in such a way, but who knows, it’s not like he enjoys the title. He is also the nephew of Asuma Sarutobi, leader of Team 10, though the two do not seem to be very close.

He cannot remember his parents at all, neither what they were like nor their faces. Ever since he could remember, his grandfather had always been the one taking care of him, his guardian, and that was fine with the boy. Except that he had to live in the great man’s shadow, striving to do his best, yet feeling even more disheartened when every villager he came across failed to recall something as simple as his name. Instead, they called him by his title, “The Honorable Grandson”. Well, he didn’t want to be called that, that wasn’t his name. Besides, how hard was it to remember the name of someone who was named after the village they lived in?!

Konohamaru has always felt that he was not being acknowledged at all due to his status as the Hokage's grandson. As a way to rebel and get himself to finally be noticed, he has often attempted to challenge his grandfather to fight him, childishly hoping he could defeat him in battle so that he could become Hokage himself. Maybe then he would finally be recognized as he had always wanted to be.

When the eight-year-old boy is not in class, one can usually find him either training with his tutor, Ebisu, or spending time with his two best friends, Udon and Moegi. When all three are showing off together, they like to call themselves the "Konohamaru Corps”, mainly because Konohamaru feels he is the most qualified to be the team’s “leader”.
