AND AFTER ALL THIS TIME, I NEVER THOUGHT WE'D BE HERE, WHEN MY LOVE FOR YOU WAS BLIND. Genin at last. Ino and the rest of her class had finally advanced from the academy and been given their very own Konohagakure no Sato forehead protectors. They would soon be meeting their Jounin instructors, fortunately they still had yet another day before that would happen, and until then, Ino planned to get some training out of the way. She wanted to be at her best so that she could impress him. Hopefully in return, she and her squad would be able to be assigned more respected missions.
As of today, Ino was practicing her use of taijutsu. Given the type of ninjutsu she used, honing her taijutsu skills was very important, for it would be near impossible to rely on her ninjutsu in any individual's body. Not everyone could use certain releases, or had chakra amounts comparable to hers, but most people whom she'd even consider swapping bodies with would have some aptitude for taijutsu.
"Hiiii-yah!" Ino would punch a wooden post. This was followed by three more punches and finally a kick.
"Girl, you've still got it!"

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,bTable][atrb=style, width: 300px; text-align: justify;] I won't go
Quietly "Ok, if I do not strike the target one hundred times before it hits the ground I will have to perform one thousand push-ups!"
Konoha's Green Beast found himself staring at the target ahead of him, merely a rough sack of threadbare cloth containing what could only be described as 'leftovers'. The grass swayed below his blue and orange-clad feet, stricken with the millions of trillions of drops of dew from the surrounding water, the colder climate of winter contributing to the wet ground. He didn't mind, of course he didn't. These conditions just made it more of a challenge.
Grabbing the heavy sack with both hands, he tossed it quickly into the air, leaping after it with a high upward's kick. The sole of his foot planted itself firmly on the cloth with a light wheeze, sending the bag higher into the air. He kicked out again and again and again, suspending the flight of this less-than-magnificent flying object, before using the momentum of his leg swinging right to move to the other side of the sack, striking it with quick and powerful fists, counting each and every one.
The two imaginary opponents cascades towards the ground, the light wheezing accelerating and amplifying into loud, dull knock as the pressure acted on the contents of the bag. Forty hits, fifty hits, sixty hits. Almost there, so close to surpassing his rival. Again and again he struck it, his frustration causing him to pick up the pace, the thuds seemingly echoing across the entire training field as he beat his opponent into submission.
"...ninety-nine... one hundred!"
And with one final punch, a hard strike with all of his power, the sack burst, colliding with both his fist and the hard earth below it. Panting, it took a moment to sink in. He had done it, the feat he never thought possible, the one obstacle he thought he could never master. Aerial combat, the one place Neji's Byakugan couldn't help him. Lee may not be able to train his vital organs be he could damn sure train his style. A wide smile broke out on his lips as he stood, celebrating wildly, though lamenting the fact that Gai-sensei couldn't have been there to see it.
Something intrigued him however, the sound of a girl in the next field, the familiar thump of an amateur punch against the traditional wooden log. Was there a woman who needed his help? He stood straight, saluting to the air, determined.
"I, Rock Lee, shall help this damsel in distress, like a true man!"
He dashed off, leaving the ruptured sack where it was, a rather confident smile on his face. If what Gai-sensei had told him about women was true, impressing them with his strength was bound to work and the feat he just performed, he was sure he could recreate it. No, not recreate it. Improve on it. Eventually he appeared from the treeline, not quite seeing the woman in question. Shading his eyes and squinting at the cold sunlight, he called out.
"Hello? I heard you training and I wish to accompany you!
Despite not knowing where the woman was, he bowed to the air, ever courteous and chivalrous, waiting for a response from his potential training partner. made by rabble of back to neverland |

AND AFTER ALL THIS TIME, I NEVER THOUGHT WE'D BE HERE, WHEN MY LOVE FOR YOU WAS BLIND. Such formal salutations. Ino heard someone approaching and soon bowing before her. The girl would cease her training at the wooden pole and turn around. Bowing before her was a boy sporting a green jump suit. A bowl hair cut, and large bugging eyes. Her eyes would travel downward. He had a Konohagakure no Sato forehead protector, meaning that he was already recognized as a genin. He wasn't from her class, which meant that he was an upperclassmen of at least genin rank. Most likely genin for sure.
"Umm... Hi. Yamanaka Ino is the name," she introduced herself politely. She'd bow to him, just as he'd done to her, before standing erect once more with her hands hanging down at her sides. They'd say it was rude to ask for one's name before introducing one's self, thus Ino had decided to get that out of the way as soon as possible. Yet, the boy seemed to be more interested in the training that he'd entirely forgotten to introduce himself. But instead, he'd offered to train.
Ino stared skeptically. He looked as though he had somewhat of a robust build. A taijutsu user, no doubt. But at the moment, Ino felt as though she could do anything. Training with... or rather sparring against one of her upperclassmen could give her a chance to really prove herself.
"How about a spar then?" She'd question him. "Though I'd have to warn you, I am the second most gifted genin in my graduating class!"
