DESCRIPTION |
HEIGHT & BUILD | Five feet tall, thin and petite APPEARANCE | Miss Katsu is a rather short girl, standing at a terrifying five feet. Seriously, isn't that just terrifying? Katsu's hair is a dark brunette that is usually mistaken for black, but no, it isn't. Her hair is roughly cut, falling just above the end of her neck. It gets in her face often as well. Honestly, her height and hair suit her. She's like a shitzu. At first you think they're frilly and all bark, then they pee on your shoes and you get mad. After that they bite you. Of course, Katsu would never bite you. She'd never be able to fit anyone into her small little mouth. Her nose is just as small too. Both her eyes are large though, she's still in the saucer eyes stage of development. Now, her eyes are a very interesting color; they change with the light. It's mostly because it's a dark and deep shade of brown that can darken or brighten depending on how she positions her head. PERSONALITY | Katsu isn't too loud, but she isn't shy. No, this girl follows the philosophy of "don't talk unless it concerns you or if someone is violating what you believe in." Honestly, she doesn't go looking for trouble too often. Katsu mostly just follows what her superiors tell her, but only because her sister told her to listen to them. Other than that, she's relatively timid unless provoked. Katsu is extremely obedient actually. If you're in the Sound Village you shouldn't have too much trouble getting her to help with whatever you need help with. Hell, some could even call her gullible and naive. Katsu basically grew up doing whatever her sister or other people told her to do, so she has no real experience thinking for herself. Her philosophy toward violence and fighting is to try to avoid getting involved unless ordered to. When involved in a serious battle, Katsu has been trained to use every single little combat skill she's been taught. This girl was trained to win fights, not to play around in them. That basic principle has been the basis of her entire life. When in combat, she wins. When out of combat, Katsu could be any civilian on the street. LIKES DISLIKES |
HISTORY |
Katsu and her elder sister, Ajisai, were the wayward children of a village that was destroyed due to the remaining paranoia of the KKG wars. Their parents were both killed in the frantic rush to escape the mayhem of the crumbling last remaining pieces of their village, and so, Ajisai took it upon herself to raise her infant sister in the harsh conditions of the Land of Iron. Ajisai became independent quickly. She didn't rely on the charity of strangers often. The one time she did it was allowing herself and her infant sister to be taken in by an aged Samurai who felt pity towards the girls. Katsu was raised in this home by her sister and the old man. Katsu doesn't remember the cold nights spent running with their mother from the hateful chasing shinobi, or the chilling sensation of being held tightly by her mother as the life slipped from her. Nor does she have any recollection of her sister crying as they left the patch of uprooted snow and dirt with a small pile of rocks carefully placed on top. All she remembers is the warm man she happily called "grandpa" and the sister who was more like her mother. Every day Katsu would watch the old man bring in his trainees. Her sister even joined the class, and so Katsu got lonely at times while her sister trained day in and day out. Eventually it became ritual that Katsu would watch them train and bring her grandfather, Ajisai, and his students tea and sweets after their training. They all enjoyed watching the six year old stumble about with a rather large tray. Of course, when she was just about to fall, they all would reach out simultaneously to prevent the spills. When Katsu was seven, she noticed the students stopped coming. Instead, new ones appeared. She didn't quite understand the concept of training years. For the past three years Katsu thought they had just been playing in the dojo. She asked Ajisai about it, and her elder sister quickly replied it's something all the adults in the village did as she put on the uniform for her first guard patrol. Katsu tried to get more information about it, but her sister didn't say much of anything else and rushed out. Now, Katsu was tired of being left out of all the "fun stuff," so, later that week, she knocked on her grandfather's door and asked to join his classes. Obviously, he said no at first. I mean, who would let such a small girl join his classes? Well, the thing about small children is, they always get they want. There isn't a grandfather alive who could resister Katsu when she was full on puppy dog eyes. So, he eventually let her join the classes, and by eventually, it was the next day. Since she was so young, he said she could join in on the classes, however, she wouldn't be an official student until next year. The first day of her training, Katsu showed talent with the sword, but not talent in following directions. She ran about willy nilly, and it seemed like her stamina just wouldn't run out! By the end of the day the entire class was tired from chasing her about. When Ajisai found out about this, she laughed wildly. Katsu laughed along as well, loving the time she was getting to spend with her sister who seemed to be getting busier and busier. Despite the laughter and smiles, a small voice in the back of her head screamed that something was wrong. Her sister was getting odder and odder, distancing herself from everyone. It didn't feel right, but Katsu pushed those thoughts away. Her sister would never do anything wrong! She was a saint. The next year of training continued smoothly, well about as smoothly as having a class with Katsu could get. She showed more and more promise, and her grandfather trained her in private more and more. He always told her how proud of her she was, and Katsu loved being complimented, so she tried harder and harder. He pushed Katsu to her limits, and Katsu tried exceeding them. When it finally came time for her to officially join the class, Katsu rushed to share her joy with her sister. The moment she opened the door, Ajisai screamed at her to close the door as she quickly covered something with a blanket. When Katsu asked what the item was, her sister snapped at her to go away. She obeyed and ran off, not understanding what had just happened. Later that day her first "official" class started. She was surrounded by kids her age for the first time in her life. It was amazing! Her grandfather even took them on a formal tour of the dojo! He showed her so many things, including a door she had never noticed before. It was marked "off limits." Katsu didn't ask about it, the last time she asked about something hidden she was yelled at. And so, another year of training came and went. Katsu's sister acted more and more suspicious, and she was home less and less. When she did come home, it would be late into the night. Ajisai would be covered in blood, but not injured, and she would just pat Katsu's head and tell her to get as strong as she could. This went on into her second year of formal training. It was the middle of the year when she heard them arguing. Katsu had been up, getting some water, when she heard it. It was her sister and grandfather. Ajisai was talking calmly about how she didn't need him anymore, about how Katsu didn't need him either. Her grandfather was shouting that she didn't know what she was doing. The next thing Katsu heard was her sister saying: "Shut up. We're not some silly little replacements for those you couldn't protect." Her grandfather didn't reply after that. Ajisai ran out of the room, running so fast she didn't even notice Katsu. The little girl didn't look into the room, instead, she ran back to her room, trying to wish the night away. She never even noticed the pool of blood forming outside her grandfather's room. The next morning Katsu couldn't find her grandfather anywhere. Her sister was awake, dressed nicely. She was cleaning the dojo. When Katsu asked where her grandfather was, she replied that he had abandoned them because he lost interest. Of course Katsu didn't believe her. Why would her grandfather just leave? She searched the entire house, but little nine year old Katsu couldn't find him anywhere. His room was empty, and some things were missing. It was like he packed and left. Had her sister spoken the truth? The next two weeks were silent. Ajisai was usually in the forbidden room, doing something that Katsu wasn't allowed to know. The students had stopped coming, and it was as if life had drained from the house itself. Finally, after three weeks of silence, her sister emerged from the forbidden room, grinning widely. She beckoned Katsu to another room, saying she was going to take over her training to make her super strong. Katsu followed like a little puppy. The room had a table in it, but not much else. Ajisai told Katsu to lay on the table, and she did as she was told. The next two hours were the most painful moments of the small girl's life. Her sister had strapped her down, then took out a sword. One by one, Ajisai smashed the sword into her joints, shattering them. After ten minutes, Katsu had passed out. Her sister just continued. When she woke up, everything hurt. Her sister told her this would make her super strong, but it didn't matter to Katsu. Everything just hurt. After two months, Katsu was able to walk again. Her joints had healed, but something was odd. She could twist in new ways, and her sister didn't seem surprised. In fact, that was exactly what Ajisai had been counting on. She had replaced most of Katsu's joints with steel balls. As soon as she was sure Katsu was healed, the next stage of the training began. It was rigorous, it was long, and it was way too complicated to type out without making a novel. However, it did the job. After two years of training, being kept in that dojo by her sister, not seeing the outside world unless accompanied by Ajisai, Katsu was stronger than ever. Her training had began at age nine, and ended at eleven. Well, it didn't end exactly. It changed. It was the first birthday gift Katsu had gotten in over three years, and it had been to her sister's design. It was a beautiful sword that her sister insisted was special. It didn't take Katsu long to figure out why. Her sister had designed it to be a weapon that not even the legendary Swordsmen of the Mist could ignore. It could channel chakra, special chakra. Katsu had never gotten much training with nature based chakra, but she caught on quickly. After all, she had practically grew up in the dojo. On her twelfth birthday, a familiar scene played out. It was dead into the night, and Katsu was woken up by her sister. This time, Ajisai told her that they were going somewhere to get even stronger than they were now! This time, they were going to a shinobi village. It was late, and at first Katsu didn't quite understand. However, the obedience that had been beaten into her made Katsu rise from bed. She sleepily followed her sister through the house, gathering supplies and dressing for a journey. When they left the house, the cold wind snapped Katsu awake. They were leaving their home. Why? She didn't ask, only followed. Her sister must have known what she was doing. She always did! Katsu followed Ajisai through the blinding snow storm that was plaguing their village at the time. When she took notice of the guards that weren't there, Ajisai told her they didn't patrol during snow storms. Katsu believed her lie and continued following her to leave the village then the country. Meanwhile, as the sisters made their escape into the snow, a neighbor noticed the door had been left open. She walked into the home, calling for the girls who lived there after their grandfather fell ill. According to what Ajisai had told her, he suddenly fell ill and couldn't be visited. They didn't answer, and she became worried. The next morning she called the authorities and a team of samurai came to the house. They had believed Katsu's grandfather defected from his service as a trainer, courtesy of Ajisai, and the current worry was that he came back and did something to his adopted granddaughters. The samurai searched the entire home, and they found nothing. That is, until they searched the door marked forbidden. Inside, they found the rotted corpse of the old man. It was so old it didn't even smell anymore. It just sat there, waiting for the bugs in the earth he was never buried in to eat his body away. The two sisters traveled out of the country, Katsu blissfully unaware of the samurai searching frantically for them inside the city. Ajisai was well aware the house was probably entered by now. After two weeks of travel, they came to a laboratory in the Land of Rice fields. It was called Otogakure. They were met by a group of men, all of which her sister seemed to know. Katsu had never met them though, but Ajisai told her they would be working with them from now on to help make the world a better place. She told her that this was why Katsu had been trained so hard. Katsu believed it and began her life in the Sound Village. Within two months, her sister was well accepted into the village. She constantly told Katsu they served this village now, and they were going to protect and do whatever it took for the village to prosper. Katsu now served under Orochimaru's orders. Even when her sister seemed to vanish, she followed his orders because her sister had told her too. For the past year or so, Katsu has been a loyal follower of Orochimaru and Kabuto, even as the world has begun to descend into chaos. |
