AND AFTER ALL THIS TIME, I NEVER THOUGHT WE'D BE HERE, WHEN MY LOVE FOR YOU WAS BLIND. Today hadn't been the best of days. As even though Ino had been made into a genin, she had been stuck onto a squad with someone who was less than fitting to her image of shinobi. Akimichi Chouji, of the fatty clan. Yep. That was who her partner was. But regardless, it seemedd that she'd be having to work with him for quite some time so she'd have to make the best of a bad situation. And what that meant was training. And helping to get him into shape.
So, Ino had invited the Akimichi boy to a very special lunch date. Yep, she'd made a picnic for them in Konoha park. The two of them were to talk, and if she could cajole him well enough, perhaps she'd even be able to convince him to train. She'd set up a nice blanket on the ground. She was now atop of it, laying upon her stomach. Right next to her she had a basket filled with baked goods, salads and sandwiches. Chouji had just shown up as well.
It was evening now... a few hours after class. Tomorrow they were supposed to meet their new sensei. But that was in due time. Today was about getting to the point where they'd hopefully be able to impress him.
"So... are you hungry Chouji?" she'd ask in a nearly seductive tone.

She was loud. She was rude. She was usually too smart for him to sit and listen to for too long.
But Ino made good sandwiches.
Choji had already helped himself to the food his new teammate had set up a picnic for the two of them to enjoy. She said something about the two of them getting to know each other more, but that wasn't the interesting part. Free food meant the Akimichi would be there, no doubt about it.
The boy nommed hungrily into his sandwich, quiet moans of approval echoing from his full cheeks. It was so good!
Ino spoke, drawing the boy's attention to her just before he would take another bite. He hadn't noticed she was laying on her chest, looking up on the cross-legged boy with those big blue eyes of hers.
The way she was speaking...it was weird.
"Yeah, I'm almost always hungry. Why?"
Choji snarfed another bite from his sandwich.

AND AFTER ALL THIS TIME, I NEVER THOUGHT WE'D BE HERE, WHEN MY LOVE FOR YOU WAS BLIND. "No reason I guess..." Ino would say innocently, now peering away from Chouji and looking toward the basket on the ground. If he hadn't noticed, Ino hadn't eaten anything yet. AS a matter of fact, she was on a diet at this very moment. She was sticking to one meal and one meal only for the day. That meant all of the food in the basket she had brought was for Chouji alone, and possibly Shikamaru if he showed up, though she hadn't gone through the trouble of inviting him. Intentionally. She wanted to see if she could appeal to Chouji better privately.
A brief moment or two later, she'd turn to Chouji once again, now batting her eyelashes ever so innocently. Her next few words would be tricky to say.... but she'd have to make sure to say them in a way that wouldn't offend the boy.... She'd have to handle it soft and gentle, like a Yamanaka Clan Flower.
"Chouji.... I noticed you have quite a healthy appetite..." Ino would say... "Is there a reason that you eat... so much?"
Obviously Ino knew the answer. It was to hide his pain. There had to be some kind of traumatizing event that had occurred in his past. Perhaps something to do with his clan. She knew that it was somewhat commonplace within that clan, but there was more to it than that. They were hiding their pain.
"It's alright... you can tell me," she'd place her hand gently on his knee to console him. "We're partners now."

She sure was talkative.
Choji simply sat and finished off his sandwich as her questions rolled on. He reached into her basket, drawing forth another sandwich. The boy wasn't one to eat salads, and he could get to what she baked after he finished this first course. These sandwiches were just too good.
He stopped when he felt her hand on his knee.
Okay, she was doing something.
Was...was she trying to seduce him?
B-but they didn't even kn-know each other.
Well, he had to answer her question. Maybe he could steer things in another direction.
"I eat because food tastes really good. That's about it."
[/size] He took a greedy bite out of his fresh sandwich. "Thanks again for making this picnic!"[/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

AND AFTER ALL THIS TIME, I NEVER THOUGHT WE'D BE HERE, WHEN MY LOVE FOR YOU WAS BLIND. Having exhausted all attempts for tack, Ino rolled her eyes and groaned. Chouji had absolutely no idea what she was talking about and had pretty much ignored her real question. "I like food because it's good." That was such a shitty answer and he knew it. It was like Chouji was trying to be difficult... then again, maybe he was. Being fat wasn't easy, for sure. But it was still a choice that he'd made based off of his actions. As much as Ino appreciated the compliment which had been afforded to her sandwiches, she'd much rather prefer that her squad be manageable and able to survive their missions.
"Yeah... sure..." Ino spoke reluctantly, her gaze now trailing away from Chouji who continued to eat with very little shame. Getting somewhere with this boy was going to be a struggle, now, wasn't it?
"You know Chouji, there aren't many girls who like fat... guys," Ino finally said, feeling quite relieved after having done so. She was having difficulty deciding if such a statement was out of place, but she'd felt she'd managed to do so hopefully without seeming too blunt.
"And... there aren't really many successful shinobi who are overweight. Part of what they taught us in the academy was how to stay in shape. There's reason behind it..." Ino attested. "Right now... I'm on a diet myself... perhaps you'd consider joining me?"

Munch munch munch.
Choji listened to the girl as she rambled on, his focus being ping-ponged between her words and his meal. She spoke of the trouble that fat shinobi and all of the faults that came with them. He was rather lost with her random statistics and opinions, especially when she asked him to join her on her diet.
"Ino-chan. Why are you telling me so much about fat shinobi?"
[/size] He took another heaping bite out of his sandwich. Choji wasn't following what she was going off of. Why tell him all of this stuff, and ask him to diet with her? Unless. She thought he was... No, he wasn't. He wasn't. So she couldn't think he was either.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]
