Twelve years ago, a nine-tailed fox (Kyuubi) suddenly appeared. It’s tails lashed out, smashing mountains, and sending tidal waves crashing to the shores. The ninja of the Leaf rose up to defend their village. But with all their might they could barely hamper the beast's destructive rampage. The village would have been left in ruins were it not for the efforts of one brave shinobi. He was able to seal the beast at the cost of his life... that shinobi was called "Yondaime Hokage." The monster was sealed within the newborn orphan, Uzumaki Naruto, whose umbilical cord had just be cut. However to protect him, a decree was put in place. No citizen of the Leaf could tell Uzumaki Naruto that he was the container of the monster. Afraid of his destructive potential, many of the adult villagers shunned him entirely. And their children, although unaware of Naruto's status caught on to their parents' dislike for the boy and often scorned him as well. Naruto grew to be a prankster who was constantly causing trouble throughout Konohagakure. He enjoyed the attention garnered from reprimands, as he had no parents or friends to give him attention otherwise. Despite claiming to be a talented shinobi who would someday become Hokage, Naruto was incapable of performing basic techniques such as the Clone Technique. Because of this, Naruto was unable to graduate from the academy. On one fateful night, Naruto was tricked by his sensei, Mizuki, into stealing Konohagakure no Sato's Scroll of Sealing. Before much harm was done, Naruto's other sensei, Iruka, intercepted him. Mizuki attacked them both, and informed Naruto of his heritage. The battle was fierce, but before Mizuki could kill Naruto and Iruka, Naruto fought back with the single jutsu he'd learned from the Scroll of Sealing, the Multiple Shadow Clone Technique. After such an impressive display of talent, Naruto was advanced to the rank Genin. And here our story begins... |
